The Upper house of the Federal Parliament of Somalia has passed the Petroleum bill on Monday 6th, 2020.
After senate hearing of the bill, 28 voted with 24 senators in favor of the bill and rejected by four.

The meeting was chaired by Speaker of the Upper House Senator Abdi Hashi Abdullahi along with the First Vice President of the Senate Senator Abshir Mohamed Ahmed and 2nd Deputy Speaker of the Senate Senator Mohamoud Guhaad.

The Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Abdurashid Mohamed Ahmed expressed his gratitude and commendation for the approval of the law and confirmed his commitment to the development of the petroleum and mining sector of Somalia.
