H.E. Mr Dahir Shire Mohamed
(Minister of Petroleum & Mineral Resources)

H.E. Dahir Shire Mohamed is the Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources of the Federal Government of Somalia, appointed in December 2024. With nearly three decades of experience across management, humanitarian, development, and education sectors, Minister Dahir is committed in driving Somalia’s energy sector forward, through strengthened institutional capacities, attracting investment, and ensuring equitable resource distribution to leverage natural resources for Somalia’s inclusive and sustainable socio-economic development and growth. 

Minister Dahir holds a Master’s Degree in Development Studies from Jomo Kenyatta University, Kenya. He also has an academic background in strategic project management and leadership.
